Making a good PDF from photos and scans
Many forms and offices ask for documents as a single PDF — scanned certificates, ID cards, receipts for an expense claim, or photos of handwritten notes. This tool turns your images into a clean PDF with one image per page, in the order you choose.
A4 is the standard paper size in India and most of the world, and the best choice if the PDF might be printed. US Letter is common in the USA and Canada. Same as image makes each page exactly the size of its picture, with no white space — good for sharing on screen.
With Automatic orientation, wide images get landscape pages and tall images get portrait pages, so nothing is shrunk unnecessarily. Each image is scaled to fit the page and centred. A small margin looks neater when printing; no margin uses the whole page.
JPG and PNG images are placed into the PDF without being re-compressed, so they keep their original quality. Phone photos are automatically turned the right way up. If the finished PDF is too big for an upload limit, run your images through the Image Compressor first, then create the PDF again.
For the clearest scans, photograph documents in good light, straight from above, and crop away the background.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is created inside your browser on your own device. Your images are never uploaded, so private documents stay private.
Will my photos lose quality in the PDF?
No. JPG and PNG images are placed into the PDF as they are, without re-compression. Other formats such as WebP are converted to high-quality JPG first.
How do I make the PDF file smaller?
The PDF is about the same size as your images added together. Compress or resize the images first with our Image Compressor or Image Resizer, then create the PDF again.
Why do my phone photos appear the right way up?
Phones often save photos sideways with a note saying how to rotate them. This tool reads that note and turns the photo upright before adding it to the PDF.
How many images can I add?
There is no fixed limit. Very many large photos may be slow on older phones because everything runs on your device.
